However, sometimes we need a little extra work to get the curls blended so that we can have the most realistic looking hair possible. Below are 5 tips to help you effortlessly blend your hair with kinky-curly extensions!

1.Use Perm and Flexi Rods

Depending on the size, length, and type of curl, perm and flexi rods are perfect for blending your natural hair with kinky curly extensions.

To get the closest match, you’ll need to determine what kind of curl the extensions hold. Make sure you know exactly what type of curl it is, and then pick the right styling tool. Usually, perm rod curls blend better with tight curls while flexi rods help to blend with looser curls.

2.Curl Extensions and Your Real Hair At The Same Time

The mistake that a lot of women make is that they curl their hair separate from the extensions and try to blend it later. To eliminate this problem, take a piece of your hair and a piece of the extensions, combine them together, and then wrap them around your styling tool.

If you’re worried about your hair being too short to blend with this method, try doing a rod set while your hair is damp or wet; there’s a better chance of it blending better this way because it’ll have time to dry and set together.

3.Opt For Ponytails, Buns, and Braids

Sometimes blending hair to wear it down is a hassle. In that case, you can always go to the classic ponytails and buns. Brush your real hair right over the extensions, apply your hair product of choice, and whip it into a ponytail or bun.

4.Curl Definition Products

Simply applying products that define your curls comes in handy when your hair matches the curl pattern of your extensions.

In this case, the best way to blend your hair is to section it off, spritz it with water, apply a cream based moisturizer, and then smooth a light oil through your hair. Not only with this define your curls, but it’ll lock in moisture and allow your hair to stay nicely blended all day. If you need to touch up your hair, simply spritz it with water and finger comb through it.

5.Try Bobby Pins and Headbands
Bobby pins and headbands come in handy when your hair is too short too blend–especially if you’re wearing a weave and have some hair left out.

The first thing you need to do is achieve a perfectly matched curl. This is always going to be important, no matter what method you decide to use.

After you’ve formed the right curl, take the end of your hair and gently tuck it between your extensions*. Then, with the ridged side down, slide the bobby pin in between the extensions and secure the bottom of your real hair.

The bobby pin should be secure, but not visible or noticeably tugging or disguising anything. If you are afraid that the bobby pin will show, make sure you slide it as close to the root of your hair as possible.
